2008

Apr 7 - The Big Nickel Tournament mourns the passing of co-founder and chair Gerald McCrory, who lost a four and a half year battle with cancer on Monday, April 7th. Gerry will forever be remembered by fans of minor hockey in Sudbury and across the country as a strong advocate of minor hockey and for the role he played to make the Big Nickel Tournament the success that it has become. Tourney Vice-Chair and son Barry McCrory will succeed Gerry as Chair, and in the words of Vice-Chair Bruce Killah, "it is now our responsibility to continue the legacy that Gerry began back in 1980."
